Story
Dhruvan ( Jayam Ravi ), is a tribal and forest officer who works for the welfare of his tribe and spreading education among them. His life takes a turn when a group of 5 NCC students, brave, bold at heart ( Dhansika, Maha, Liyasri, Saranya, Vasundhara ) comes to the forest as part of their NCC camp. They get struck inside the forest and come across a group of foreign terrorists led by Anderson ( Roland kickinger ). Their mission is to blow away a satellite which is to be launched by the Indian Government . How does he do that forms the rest of the story.
Performance
Jayam Ravi came up with a extrodinory performance. He is at his best by all means. Credit should go to all the five girls, Vasundhara and Dhanishka are impressive among the lot. Ponvannan was perfect, Vadivelu added for the lighter moments, Oorvasi was okay.
The technical departments are ok. The director S P Jananathan has come up with a different interesting storyline and both his narration and presentation were worth a watch. Cinematography by Satish is stunning and mind-boggling. Music scored by Vidya Sagar , the background score and music played a key role to add to the moods.
Analysis:
On the whole, ‘ Peranmai' is different and interesting. It could be the best entertainment in this season. The film lacks comedy or any mass elements but then, it has a presentation keeps the audience hooked to the screen. While the first half takes off on a moderate speed, the second half of the film is the soul and strength and when you leave the theatre. All credit to S P Jananathan for weaving a movie is engrossing and enthralling. Go for it!
